چکیده

A snakebite is an injury caused by a bite from snake, often resulting in puncture wounds inflicted animal’s fangs and sometimes envenomation. Venom may cause complex condition that can be local damage, neuromuscular dysfunction, or systemic vascular damage leading to hemolysis. The main of mortality morbidity snake bites neurotoxicity, the neurotoxicity sudden paralysis. Synthesis, packaging, transport, release neurotransmitter acetylcholine presynaptic field, blockade postsynaptic nicotinic receptors, esterase inhibition, muscarinic effects some toxins, inhibition voltage-gated calcium gates, changes junction after explain paralysis secondary bite. We present case, with bilateral diplopia ptosis snakebite, was recovered use anticholinesterase therapy antivenom.

Nonsurgical management of binocular diplopia induced by macular pathology.

OBJECTIVE To treat binocular diplopia secondary to macular pathology. METHODS Seven patients underwent evaluation and treatment. All had constant vertical diplopia caused by various maculopathies, including subretinal neovascularization, epiretinal membrane, and central serous retinopathy. Visual acuity ranged from 20/20 to 20/30 in the affected eye. All except 1 patient had a small-angle, co...

Binocular fusion, suppression and diplopia for blurred edges

PURPOSE (1) To devise a model-based method for estimating the probabilities of binocular fusion, interocular suppression and diplopia from psychophysical judgements, (2) To map out the way fusion, suppression and diplopia vary with binocular disparity and blur of single edges shown to each eye, (3) To compare the binocular interactions found for edges of the same vs opposite contrast polarity. ...

Diplopia after retinal detachment surgery.

Diplopia following retinal detachment usually responds to simple measures. Fifteen out of 311 cases developed diplopia lasting more than three months after conventional retinal detachment surgery. Binocular single vision was restored in 12 of the 15 cases (80%). The mean follow-up was four years. Diplopia was eliminated stepwise. If prisms were ineffective, our first surgical procedure was remo...

The scotogenic contact lens: a novel device for treating binocular diplopia

Binocular diplopia is a debilitating visual symptom requiring immediate intervention for symptomatic control, whether or not definitive treatment is eventually possible. Where prismatic correction is infeasible, the current standard is occlusion, either by a patch or an opaque contact lens. In eliminating one problem-diplopia-occlusive techniques invariably create another: reduced peripheral vi...

Anaesthesia-related diplopia after cataract surgery.

BACKGROUND We studied the incidence and clinical characteristics of persistent diplopia related to anaesthesia for cataract surgery in a general hospital. METHODS This was a retrospective review of anaesthesia for 3587 cataract surgeries. Of all the cases of diplopia referred to the ocular motility clinic after cataract surgery, those involving anaesthesia-related diplopia lasting longer than...
